Jim and Rachel welcome all guests to the Sabbath House and will assist with planning and design and will ensure your comfort for your stay whether it be for a wedding, family reunion, or a church group gathering.
Jim Strickland and Rachel Lackey, a husband/wife team, have been the managers of Sabbath House since its inception, construction, and ten years of operation.
Jim holds a Doctorate of Ministry Degree in pastoral care and counseling from Columbia Theological Seminary, and Rachel holds a Masters Degree in Religious Education and has worked in Clinical Pastoral Education. She is a Certified Enneagram Teacher in the Narrative Tradition.
The Sabbath House was originally established to serve clergy in need of personal retreat time. Its founders are clergy or laity leadership in local churches who desired to fill this need. They soon realized that the invitation to Sabbath should be extended to everyone.
